Is now a good time for sod?

Yes, we harvest our sod throughout the year, as long as the ground isn't frozen or covered in snow!

Do you offer delivery?

Delivery is available within the Northern Virginia area. Please allow 2-3 days' notice for delivery scheduling.

Minimum order of 4 pallets required.

What sizes of sod do you sell?

10 square foot rolls, measuring 2' X 5', available everyday for pick up. Smaller rolls are available if required.

Do you do special orders?

We HARVEST BIG 42" rolls available for large installations such as athletic fields, golf courses and other very large areas. Please contact us for ordering information.

Can you spot the pallets where I need them when you deliver the sod?

Delivery is to the curb only. Our small forklifts aren't able to handle irregular surfaces. However, we'll assist you in any way we can.

How much sod is on a pallet?

Each pallet has 60 rolls, which cover 600 square feet.

How much does the sod weigh?

The sod weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. per roll. Each pallet of sod will weigh approximately 2000 lbs. Please keep in mind that sod will be heavier after rain.

Do you charge a deposit on the wooden skids (pallets)?

There's a $12.00 pallet deposit if you take the wooden skid with you. When you bring the pallet back, we'll refund you the $12.00 deposit.

What is Tall Fescue?

Tall Fescue is a blend of 90 percent Tall Fescue and 10 percent Kentucky Bluegrass. This is great for families who love to enjoy the outdoors. It is a tough play lawn, well suited to the recreational needs of kids and pets. It will grow well in shaded areas and withstands drought conditions longer than other grasses mainly because of its deep root system.

What is Kentucky bluegrass?

100 percent Kentucky bluegrass is NOW available! Kentucky bluegrass is what the world's most beautiful golf courses are made of. This sod thrives in sunny areas, does well in cool climates and will tolerate very cold winters. It will go into summer dormancy in extreme hot, dry weather, but will return to its beautiful green color when watered.
